Taken before or after a Pandaw Mekong cruise this week long tour covers the key sites of Vietnam from Hanoi in the north to Hue in the centre to Saigon in the south. Highlights include a cruise in the Halong Bay and explorations of the world heritage site at Hue. Hotels are of the highest standard and all transfers are by air-conditioned car with expert guides.

Day 1: Arrival Hanoi

Arrival in Hanoi. Transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi - Halong

Breakfast at hotel. Visit to Temple of Literature, Ngoc Son Temple, Ancient quarters of Hanoi. Lunch.

Trip to Halong, 170km from Hanoi on east. Dinner and overnight in Halong.

Day 3: Halong - Hanoi (L)

Breakfast. Cruise to discover Halong Bay. Lunch on board. Return to Hanoi. Dinner. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi - Hue

Free for shopping or at leisure.
Take a flight to Hue. Arrival in Hue.
Check in hotel. Free at leisure.

Day 5: Hue sightseeing

From the center of Hue, we board a dragon boat and travel on the scenic Huong River (Perfume River) to Thien Mu Pagoda (built in 1601 by King Nguyen Hoang), followed by a visit to the impressive tomb of King Minh Mang.

The afternoon is spent exploring the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden City, where the Nguyen Kings settled and ruled Vietnam. The great value of this ancient landmark is the royal architectural complex, which has Saigon, we stop at the fascinating Dong Ba Market, where we can experience the bustle of daily life. It has been officially recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Day 6: Hue - Saigon

Transfer to the airport for a flight to Saigon.

Take a half-day city tour : Reunification Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office, Former US Embassy, City Hall, War Museum of Remnants. Shopping at Ben Thanh market.

Day 7: Tayninh - Cuchi tunnels (L)

Depart to Tay Ninh, the headquarters of one of Vietnam's most interesting indigenous religions, Caodaism. Enjoy a noon ceremony in the Cao Dai Cathedral – centre of religion. Lunch at local restaurant.

13h00: Return to visit Cu Chi maze of underground tunnels (over 200km long) and watch documentary films, making self discovery into the tunnels.

16h30: Back to Saigon.

Day 8: Departure

Free until departure.
