North and South Vietnam (LTM05)

Taken before or after a Pandaw Mekong cruise this five night tour covers the key cities of Hanoi in the north and Saigon in the south. Highlights include a cruise in the Halong Bay and a visit to the Chuchi tunnels, outside Sagion and wartime headquarters for the Viet Cong. Hotels are of the highest standard and all transfers are by air conditioned car with expert guides.

Day 1: Arrival Hanoi

Arrival in Hanoi. Transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Halong

Breakfast at hotel. Visit to Temple of Literature, Ngoc Son Temple, Ancient quarters of Hanoi. Lunch.

Trip to Halong, 170km from Hanoi on east. Dinner and overnight in Halong.

Day 3: Halong – Hanoi (L)

Breakfast. Cruise to discover Halong Bay. Lunch on board. Return to Hanoi. Dinner. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi – Saigon

Breakfast. Free untill transfer to the airport for a flight to Saigon.
Arrival in Saigon. Lunch. Check in hotel.
Free for shopping or at leisure.
Overnight in Saigon.

Day 5: Saigon city tour - Cuchi tunnels (L)

Visit to Reunification Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office, Former US Embassy, City Hall, War Museum of Remnants. Shopping at Ben Thanh market. Lunch.

In the afternoon, drive to extraordinary Cu Chi tunnels, about 65 Km (1½  hours drive) from Sai Gon. The complicated system of underground network was built by Viet Cong guerillas. En route, you have chance to see rural people live and work. View occupations such as cashew nut farming, duck breeding, rice farming and production of rice paper, a key ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine.

17h00: Return to Saigon.

Day 6: Departure

Free until departure.
