Old Mon (LTB05)

Prices

Mon civilisation in the early centuries AD dominated the region leaving a rich legacy of art and sculpture. This car tour is a fascinating way of exploring the southern state of Myanmar. Highlights include the Golden Rock at Kyaik-hti-yo and Moulemein, immortalised by Kipling’s verse and up till 1855 the capital of British Burmah. The war graves at Thanbyuzayat, set close to the notorious ‘Death Railway’ can only move. There is a lot of driving on roads of varying conditions. Hotels used are surprisingly good for such a remote area.
