Protection of the Nandaminya Temple Paintings

Nandaminya Temple Paintings

This important 13th century temple contains some of the finest mural paintings from the Late Pagan Period. Local artists were entering the temples and tracing the images onto cloths which they paint up and sell to tourists. As a result the paintings were becoming fragmented. We sponsored the Archaeology Department to erect glass panels on steel frames around the walls to prevent this damage.

Project Cost: $800.
