Saigon - Siem Reap --- ### All Assam on the Brahmaputra - **URL**: https://www.pandaw.com/expeditions/all-assam-on-the-brahmaputra - **Duration**: 10 Nights - **Country**: India - **Rivers**: Brahmaputra River - **Ships**: RV Kindat Pandaw

The mighty Brahmaputra River in Northern India originates high in the Himalayas before flowing through the scenic Assam Valley where UNESCO protected national parks and remote rural communities provide travellers with the most wonderful and authentic expedition.

Sailing 10 nights along this vast and changeable river, those coming from elsewhere in India will feel they have been transported to another world as the riverbanks extend beyond view and occasional sandstorms make it seem like we are sailing through a desert. This expedition continues downstream from Guwahati to Goalpara stopping at a of little visited historical sights of great interest.

Visiting three national Park we sail lazily through Nameri National Park to spot a vast array of birdlife, whilst during a full day jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park, we encounter vast numbers of protected mammals including the Indian One-Horned rhino and spotted twice now, but extremely rare, the Bengal Tiger.

Assam is also home to a deep and colourful culture which we encounter both on land and onboard with dances and performances from local performers, explained by our experienced Assamese guides. This is truly an adventure unlike any other.

Late check out on the 10th day enables passengers to stay on board, with full board, as most international flights from India depart at night. Currently with Indian hotels competing with London or Paris in costliness, a ten-day itinerary such as this offers travellers real value as the cruise becomes a stand-alone Pandaw India trip which means that pre and post cruise hotels in Kolkata are not required.

The ship operates a weekly seven-day circular itinerary from Kochi, navigating deep into the backwaters’ 900 kilometres of interconnected rivers and lakes. Along the way, guests visit historic churches, Hindu temples, artisan communities, traditional villages, and stretches of the Malabar Coast, combining cultural discovery with scenic cruising through palm-lined canals and lagoons.

Guwahati - Silghat - Guwahati --- ### Halong Bay and Red River - **URL**: https://www.pandaw.com/expeditions/halong-bay-red-river - **Duration**: 10 Nights - **Country**: Halong Bay & The Red River - **Rivers**: Halong Bay & The Red River - **Ships**: RV Angkor Pandaw

On a Pandaw ship travellers are able to explore the key sites of Northern Vietnam by river ship traversing the Red River delta and its main tributaries, connecting the wonders of Halong Bay with the excitements of downtown Hanoi, and then on into the interior, well off the beaten track. This is a combination of scenic beauty, lively and interesting (sometimes industrial) life of the river and exploring rivers where no other tourist craft operate.

Sailing deep into Highland Vietnam we will discover the mountain villages and a number of tribal areas. We will go as far as is navigable up the Song Red River and then down the little known Da or Black River. Note that this is a real river expedition and itineraries and schedules very much subject to change due to uncertain local conditions.

Halong Bay - Viet Tri --- ### The All Ganges - **URL**: https://www.pandaw.com/expeditions/the-all-ganges-river-cruise - **Duration**: 14 Nights - **Country**: India - **Rivers**: Hooghly Ganges River - **Ships**: RV Kalaw Pandaw The sailing covers the best of the Ganges from the colonial splendours of Kolkotta, through the enchanting rural arcadia of West Bengal along the Hooghly and the great expanse of the Ganges itself with its pristine bird and wildlife and cultural treasures dotted along the banks. Though in the days of the British Raj, paddle steamers plied this route on a regular basis, with the advent of the railways in India river navigation was abandoned and the rivers were allowed to silt up.

Varanasi, said to be the oldest inhabited city on the planet, is the most sacred city of Hinduism and a place of overwhelming beauty at the same time poignantly moving with its cremation ghats. Varanasi is surely the goal of any 'passage to India' and at the other end of the holy river stands Kolkata, in all its Raj-like magnificence. Between lies several of the most important Buddhist sites in the country, fascinating cities great and small as well as expanses of empty river teeming with bird life, not to mention the Gangeatic dolphin.

No vessel could be more appropriate for a trip down this special river than our ultra shallow draft Pandaw K class ships.

Important Notice: The cruise schedule includes the latest information regarding your program, but last minute adjustments may occur. The schedule may shift due to the weather or to take advantage of unexpected opportunities. The exact time for each activity will be announced or posted by the onboard tour staff.

Enjoy the splendour of Laos on Pandaw's 10 night expedition on the Upper Mekong. Sailing between Chiang Khong on the Thai-Laos border, and through Laos toward Vientiane, the old French capital, you will witness stunning scenery, meet amazingly warm and friendly locals and learn about Laos’ national animal, the majestic elephant. We stop for three nights at the UNESCO World Heritage City of Luang Prabang with its dazzling wood-carved monasteries before heading deep into the mountains, through rapids and gorges on our high-powered little Pandaw vessels.

Please note: During the months February to April there may be an increased risk of smog across Laos and northern Thailand. This is due to the annual crop burnings and whilst usually mild, can sometimes be quite severe. We would advise that any passengers with respiratory issues consult with their doctor before booking for this period. Most departures and travellers will be unaffected, however.

Vientiane - Chiang Khong --- ### Deeper and Further on the Mekong River - **URL**: https://www.pandaw.com/expeditions/deeper-and-further-on-the-mekong-river - **Duration**: 10 Nights - **Country**: Vietnam & Cambodia - **Rivers**: Mekong River, Tonle River - **Ships**: RV Mekong Pandaw

Sailing port to port from central Saigon to Siem Reap inland port, venture deep into Vietnam’s vast Mekong Delta, explore the norther reaches of the Mekong River at the dolphin grounds at Kratie and discover the picturesque Tonle Sap as we cross the the 150 mile-long lake. This is a new itinerary never attempted in total before and only operable aboard Pandaw’s ultra-low draft vessels and only during the high water season until October.

No ship could be more appropriate for this expedition than the much-loved Mekong Pandaw that was the first ship to pioneer the river in 2002 and historically open the river border between Vietnam and Cambodia. Only the Mekong Pandaw has the shallow draft to go so far on these rivers and the low air draft to get under recently constructed bridges. Thanks to improvements in inland water navigation in these countries we can now take the ship from Saigon to Siem Reap with no long road transfers required on arrival or departure, something unimaginable in previous years.

This pioneering route is very much aimed at Pandaw club members who seek more immersive experiences in the countries Pandaw ships ply and wish to spend more days in the comfort and lively atmosphere of our beautifully crafted ships.

With 24 staterooms the Mekong Pandaw has been refitted with a sumptuous spa, library and gym this ship, built in Burma from golden teak. This is the most spacious of all Pandaw’s nineteen ships with broad promenades running around each deck and a vast sun deck of over 600 square meters on top.

Saigon - Siem Reap --- ### The Great Irrawaddy Delta - **URL**: https://www.pandaw.com/expeditions/the-great-irrawaddy-delta - **Duration**: 10 Nights - **Country**: Burma - **Rivers**: Irrawaddy River, Irrawaddy Delta - **Ships**: RV Kanee Pandaw, RV Kha Byoo Pandaw

The Irrawaddy Delta covers over 1,000 square miles. Originally a vast inhabited wetland and jungle, much of it was cleared and cultivated by the British who annexed Lower Burma in 1855. It subsequently became the rice basket of Asia feeding much of the Indian Raj. During this period of prosperity, a number of rice towns developed in the colonial style. By the 1920s, the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company operated over 100 creek steamers across the Delta connecting these towns and villages at a time when there were neither roads nor bridges.

There are seven main channels forming a complex labyrinth of waterways understood only by the most experienced pilots. In the backwaters, there is the feel of Kerala, on the larger channels it could be New Orleans and the Deep South.

Contrary to expectation these great wetlands are not monotonous at all and there is considerable human interest in the form of pretty towns, markets, temples, churches and mosques. There is also profuse bird life in the less populated areas. Our 10 night programme enables relaxed exploration of this fascinating region, starting and returning to Rangoon with time to explore the rich architectural treasures of the Deltaic capital not to mention the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda and outstanding collection of Buddhist art in the National Museum.

One part of the journey explores the winding waterways of the Kerala backwaters around Kochi. Spanning more than 900 kilometers of interconnected rivers, canals, and lakes, the backwaters lead through landscapes lined with coconut palms. Along the way, guests step ashore to visit historic churches and temples, walk through local communities, and experience traditional Kathakali and Mohiniattam performances that have long been part of Kerala’s cultural life.

Connecting the two cruises is a two-night stay in Mumbai to make the journey between India’s west and east coasts more relaxed. Rather than a long travel day between the cruises, guests have time to explore the city, including the famous Gateway of India.

The expedition also travels along the Hooghly River in Bengal. For centuries this river served as the gateway for traders and empires entering India, with Kolkata standing as the capital of the British Raj until 1911. Sailing past former European trading settlements established by the Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, and French, guests ride rickshaws through the terracotta temple complex at Kalna, meet brass craftsmen in the riverside village of Matiari, and explore the palaces, mosques, and gardens of Murshidabad, once the seat of power in Bengal.

Would this type of cruise be suitable for children? We certainly welcome children on board our ships that generally enjoy the cruises greatly. Our policy on children travelling is as follows:Children over the age of 8 years old are welcome on board. As we have no safety netting on our vessels, and the gap between our railing is quote wide, our ships are not suitable for children under 8 years oldChildren up to 18 years must solely occupy a berth and pay 50% of the adult rate if sharing the same cabinThe full rate is applied to the child if they are staying in a different cabinPlease visit our Family Friendly Cruises page for the latest information and offers on children. #### Q: Is it possible to book a triple cabin? It is not possible to book a triple. All our cabins are twin or double configuration. #### Q: I am interested in doing a Pandaw cruise but would like to know which is the best cabin to book? The layout of all cabins on the ship are the same, it is just the location that is different. Some people tend to prefer the right hand side of the ship as it is closer to the sundeck and further away from the anchor but it really is your own personal preferences, which cabin you choose. Both cabins on the upper decks and main decks have windows and space outside your cabin to sit and look out on to the river. As we cruise downstream or upstream there is lots to be seen on both sides of the river and many of our stops along the river can be on either side of the river too so all cabins offer similar views. #### Q: Do all the cabins have twin or double beds? All cabins are twin or double configuration (with the exception of the RV Pandaw II in Burma which only has twin beds). #### Q: I read that I can obtain the Cambodian Visa onboard the upstream Mekong cruise, is this true? Passengers can obtain the Cambodian visa upon arrival at the border between Vietnam and Cambodia on the Mekong River at a cost, paid in cash in US$, per person. You will need to bring a passport size photos on board with you in order to arrange this. #### Q: Is there internet and wifi on board? Internet is available on all the ships. Unlimited data is not available, so please respect the use of the internet to enable enough data for everyone on board. As we are sailing rivers, the connection is not always reliable and it can be quite slow at times, especially in rural and remote areas. We have Wifi on all the ships on the main public areas, however there is no WiFi in the cabins (except the Suites on the RV Tonle).Mobile phones work on all rivers we ply in most places where there is a local mobile network that is connected to the international roaming networks. #### Q: Is there air-conditioning in the cabins? All of our cabins are air-conditioned, as are the dining rooms and lower deck areas. The saloon bar is air-conditioned on all ships except the Bassac Pandaw, Tonle Pandaw and Indochina Pandaw, which have open saloon bars so are cooled by fans instead. #### Q: Downloading Images Pandaw images can be downloaded from following link: https://images.pandaw.com/Agents-DownloadSteps to download images:1.
