THE DA RIVER

Located in northwestern Vietnam, the Da River (also known as the Black River) courses through three of the countries beloved provinces – Lai Chau, Son La and Hoa Binh. Spanning between China and Vietnam, this incredible river passes alongside mountains and idyllic villages. Joining the Red River in the Tam Nong District, its total length is 910 km.

Ba Vi National Park

Filled with tropical plants, a three-peaked mountain and a backdrop of clouds, Ba Vi National Park makes for an extraordinary visit. One of Vietnam’s most popular and famous areas of breathtaking natural beauty, it offers a welcome escape from city life. Its three mountain summits, Dinh Bua (1.296 m), Ngoc Hoa (1,131 m) and Tan Vien (1,226 m) are obscured partly by clouds. Many tourists visit the national park each year to see its beautiful scenery and 11th sacred century shrine which is located at the summit of Tan Vien. the Da River runs through one side of the national park, offering views of the forest and superb vistas.

Hoa Binh

A province in north Vietnam, close to Hanoi, Hoa Binh is famous for its incredible Da Bac Cave, abundance of valleys and wildlife. Situated 5km from the Da River, it is home to the biggest hydroelectric dam in all of Vietnam. A wonderful day trip for those on the river cruise, its numerous sights make it a must for anyone who wants to uncover Vietnamese culture and how it is developing.

Duong Lam

An authentic and rural village close to the centre of Hanoi, Duong Lam is filled with traditional architecture and ancient houses. Known for building temple walls, gates and other buildings from laterite and mud, it has retained much of its historic charm. A place that you can visit during your river cruise, it has a variety of market stands that offer delicious Vietnamese cuisine.
