It is just two months to go till the RV Kanee Pandaw makes its inaugural journey across the Irrawaddy Delta to be joined by the RV Kha Byoo Pandaw in December.
All our Burma team have been very busy getting them ready after a six-year layup. The two small ships sailed together down to Yangon from our Pagan base last month for dry docking and survey. We have also completed the process of securing the necessary permissions to make this exciting expedition across the great Irrawaddy Delta. They are ready to go as are their crews.
There has been a great response from Pandaw members, many of whom love the real Burma and we have over 200 people booked.
UK FCO advisories against travel to conflict areas of Burma exclude travel to the Irrawaddy Delta region with the exception of Pathein (Bassein) which we will check on prior to departure and if there is any risk visit an alternative port.
All our Myanmar teams look forward to seeing old friends again for what looks like a memorable expedition across a fascinating part of the country.
